This is a 3-month contract with potential for an extension or to go permanent.Perks & Perks:Compensation: $25 to $33/hourPlease note, 2 weeks on-site training and then moved to a hybrid model (few times a month at the client’s Mississauga, ON office)Contract: 3 month contract with potential for an extension or to go permanent.Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM (37.5 hours/week, 1-hour lunch)Responsibilities:Opportunity to work closely with cross-functional teams including Real Estate and OperationsMaintain occupancy prepaid and provision schedules; investigate reconciliation issues with Real EstateConduct month-end analysis: occupancy, payroll, accruals, allocations, and G&A accountsPrepare journal entries and cost allocations across stores and cost centersReview and reconcile GL accounts; analyze and resolve discrepanciesUpload and review bi-weekly payroll and benefits files for accuracyPrepare month-end payroll accruals and adjustments with the Operational Finance teamPerform variance analysis vs.



budget/forecast for internal stakeholdersAssist with weekly P&L reporting and prepare ad hoc financial reportsDocument and improve accounting procedures and processesSupport additional duties and special projects as assignedQualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Business or AccountingEnrolled or pursuing CPA designation (required)2–3 years of full-cycle accounting experience from a corporate environment – preferably retailFamiliarity with enterprise accounting software (JD Edwards is an asset)Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, etc.)Solid knowledge of GAAP and month-end processesAbility to work independently in a fast-paced environmentDavid Aplin & Associates Inc., operating as Aplin, and its associated brands, CompuStaff and Impact Recruitment, is an award-winning employment agency connecting diverse, top-tier talent with exceptional organizations across North America.
