Beginning in 2025 Aecon will support the Construction of the Unit 1 Small Modular Reactor at the Darlington site.The Onboarding Trainer is responsible for the project onboarding training, orientation,



and site qualification for all employees assigned to the SMR‑X Project, as well as day‑to‑day preparation and handling of training material and records.What You’ll Do HereResponsible for training project employees on a variety of Environmental Health and Safety related programs such as Safety Orientation, Human Performance Fundamentals, Safe Work Planning, Respiratory Fit Testing, Elevating Work Platform, Forklift Operation, Work at Heights, Confined Space Entry, First Aid etc.Create an environment conducive to learning for employeesCollaborate across the local organization and network to gather expectations, share best practices and coordinate program requirementManage content of existing training programs and create new training material as neededDaily preparation of training packages and attendance records.Work with team to plan training schedules and set up courses.Manage resources including facilities, equipment and availability.Handle the collection of completed training records and ensure proper scanning and storage per procedures.Ensure training material, documents and completion records are stored securely and are retrievable from the shared project folder.Promote a safety culture that supports continuous improvement in the EHS management system through active communication, participation and development of skills.Foster a positive safety culture in which no one gets hurtWhat You Bring to the TeamA working knowledge of Provincial OHS LegislationMinimum 5 years of experience in Health and Safety and training/facilitating within the construction industryRelevant post‑secondary education or equivalent experience in Construction or Health and SafetyDemonstrated Leadership abilities with strong interpersonal and communication skillsA designation such as NCSO would be considered an assetTrain the Trainer Qualifications in programs such as Work at Heights,



Confined Space Entry etc.Strong analytical/problem solving skillsProficiency in MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook)Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writingAbility to work collaboratively and effectively in teamsAbility to plan, manage, and prioritize multiple, concurrent assignments and tasksComfortable working in a rapidly changing environmentStrong sense of urgency and accountabilityKnowledge of project management conceptsStrong organizational skills; attention to detailWillingness to contribute toward, and assist colleagues with projects across functional areas and outside of primary responsibilities to contribute toward the overall team’s successPhysical DemandsVarious work locations in both field and officeFlexibility with some afternoon shifts as requiredOccasional travel as necessaryReason for vacancy: NewPay Range: $80,000 - $110,000Individual pay is determined based on several factors, including work location, education, experience, unique skills and job conditions.
