Join the Island Gold District team and be a part of the long-life mining operations, as we prioritize our employee growth, high performance and a culture of safety and accountability.Role Overview/PurposeThe Dewatering Technician will be responsible for a variety of tasks including operating equipment in site facilities and general maintenance. The incumbent will use considerable judgment in making decisions and be able to perform all tasks in accordance with Alamos’ workplace safety rules and regulations.Primary ResponsibilitiesEnsure all tasks are completed in a safe,



environmentally conscious manner and compliant with all company policies and proceduresMeet requirements of the site water management key performance indicators including, but not limited to pumping, HDPE pipe fusing and installation, refueling and winterization of plant and equipmentOperate telehandler, skid steer, light towers and diesel pump setsParticipate in safety / toolbox meetingsMaintain a clean work area and equipment and perform work in a safe and orderly mannerOther tasks as assignedSkills, Knowledge, Qualifications And ExperienceMinimum 5 years’ relevant experience as a laborer and equipment operator with demonstrated commitment to safetyCompleted Secondary School Diploma or GEDSlinging and rigging trainingCompletion of a mechanical-related program in a post-secondary institution is an asset or have acquired qualifications of a trade by progressively advancing through an apprenticeship programMechanical aptitude required with sound knowledge of a variety of diesel pump sets, pipe fitting, HDPE pipingExperience operating telehandlers, skid steers and similar equipmentSolid communication skills, able to understand and follow directions accurately and safelyKnowledge of WHMIS, which includes familiarity of chemical products, use, disposal,



and Safety Data Sheets applicationsPossess a valid Canadian driver’s license and clear driver’s abstractAbility to thrive in an environment of change; must be creative and flexiblePhysical RequirementsRole is physically demandingMust be capable of working in adverse conditions and comfortable working outside in inclement weatherMust be capable of lifting/carrying up to 25 kg, walking on rough terrain, standing for prolonged periods, climbing stairs and ladders, working at heights, crouching, kneeling, bending, twisting, operating equipmentWorking Conditions7x7 rotationPosition is subject to calloutsPay or shift range: $31.72 CAD to $52.07 CADReady to make a lasting impact?
