The Employment Specialist will assist individuals in obtaining employment, provide on‑the‑job support and coaching, and work toward empowerment and independence. They will build partnerships with local businesses to foster collaboration with Archway and employment of persons with disabilities, acting initially as a liaison until the individual is independent in their job duties.Key ResponsibilitiesConduct intake assessments, skill development activities, employment preparation, job search, job coaching, assistance when engaging potential employers, identify and mitigate barriers to employment, maintain jobs, and provide advocacy support.Provide one‑on‑one support, including career consulting appointments,



using case management principles such as Individualized Vocational Service Plans and tracking progress.Mediating and collaborating with employers to address client needs and resolve challenges using creative solutions and natural supports.Demonstrate flexibility, creativity, and a solution‑focused approach while effectively identifying and prioritizing tasks.Keep client files up to date using Teams, organizing and maintaining client and program files.This position is a excellent fit for someone who has experience working with persons with disabilities, is able to assess skillsets, and can identify creative ways to support building skills for independent employment. Also ability to connect with community partners, establish relationships, and work collaboratively to build diverse employment in Abbotsford.Qualifications (education, experience, skills)Degree or Diploma in a human‑services related field and three years’ experience working with persons with disabilities, preferably in a teaching capacity.Minimum one‑year work experience supporting persons with disabilities.Employment‑related experience providing coaching around employment skills and job search techniques is an asset.Non‑Violent Crisis Intervention Training (NVCI) or Mandt.Behavioural Interventionist training is an asset.Valid Class 5 Driver’s License, clean driving record, and clean driver’s abstract.Valid First Aid Certification with CPR.The Job Requires you to haveStrong written, verbal,



and active listening skills; ability to communicate effectively and respectfully with people from a variety of backgrounds and abilities.Proficiency with computers; use of Office 365and client databases.Experience with virtual software programs including Microsoft Teams, Zoom, and WebEx.Excellent relationship‑building and networking skills; ability to build positive and trusting working relationships.Excellent organization, time, and general management skills; able to prioritize effectively, meet deadlines, and adapt workload to changing conditions.Problem‑solving ability to address individuals’ barriers to employment.Knowledge of best practices in employment skills, including resume and cover letter writing and formatting, networking, and interviewing.Staying current on labour‑market information and industry trends.Adaptability and flexibility; scheduling may need to change to meet program requirements.Availability to work varying day/evening shifts, including Monday to Friday and occasionally Saturdays.Ability to meet physical demands such as kneeling, bending, crouching, or reaching while working with clients.Use of a personal vehicle for program‑related driving; must be able to be insured according to Archway’s transportation policy.Satisfactory Criminal Records Check is a condition of employment.Hours of workA full‑time position at 33 hours per week, availability Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM; and a full‑time, temporary position until September 2026 at 35 hours per week, availability Monday to Friday, flexible from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM.Compensation$27.54 per hour (CSSEA JJEP evaluation)#J-18808-Ljbffr
