Senior Reclamation Specialist – Calgary, AB, Edmonton, AB, or RemoteAs a Senior Reclamation Specialist, you will join our Assessment, Remediation, Reclamation and Monitoring (ARRM) team. The successful applicant will be primarily office‑based, and they will primarily oversee assessment, remediation and reclamation projects based on individual technical strengths.What You’ll DoWork on interesting environmental projects and solve environmental challenges in your community and across Western CanadaGain more direct exposure to clients and build your business development and client management experienceManage and provide technical leadership for reclamation projects and reclamation project portfoliosProvide technical project direction and mentorship to junior and intermediate staff and project managersGuide clients and drive growth in project workGrow your technical skills, innovate, and stay abreast of regulatory change by interacting with a bigger community of technical expertsJoin a flexible work environment with the ability to work in a local office or remotelyResponsibilitiesActively participate and drive Montrose’s strong safety cultureAct as a leader in the workplace using Montrose Standard Operating Safety and Technical ProceduresWork with multi‑disciplinary teams to deliver projectsLead communication with client’s program management teams and project related stakeholdersProvide support to project managersProvide senior review and approval of technical deliverables and scopes of workPrepare and/or review technical correspondence, proposals, work plans, cost estimates, and reports, including regulatory submissionsWork within a well‑organized, and creative culture with support systems that empower our professionals to focus on providing high quality solutions to our clientsTransfer knowledge,



share experiences, and support the training and mentorship of colleaguesSupport business growth and development for the reclamation portfolioBe a senior member of our technical practice community that supports team and personal innovation, and growth and success at all levelsQualificationsTechnical diploma or degree in environmental science, geology, engineering, land reclamation or a related fieldA minimum of ten (10) years previous consulting experience in a directly related role including experience managing and executing various reclamation and vegetation management projects with a minimum of 5 years of experience getting regulatory closure for reclamation work on oil and gas sitesRegistration in or a member in good standing of a professional organization (e.G. SIA, AIA)Previous experience in a consulting environment with a proven background managing reclamation projects including surface reclamation, revegetation, vegetation management, and detailed site assessmentsFamiliarity with preparing technical reports, work plans and cost estimatesFamiliarity with compiling and reviewing Alberta Combined Assessment Tool and Record of Observation (RoO) form, Conditional Adjustment of Reclamation Liability (CARL) form, Record of Site Condition submissions,



and Reclamation Certificate applicationsUnderstanding of improvement releases and overlapping exemptionsExperience with the Alberta Energy Regulator’s OneStop tool is an assetFamiliarity with the contaminated sites closure process is also an assetStrong data evaluation skills and ability to make decisions based on findingsSelf‑motivated and possess strong communication skills (verbal and written)Ability to provide effective technical direction and mentorship to other professionalsFunction effectively as part of a collaborative teamA working knowledge of provincial regulatory frameworks in Western CanadaA valid and clean class 5 driver’s license with no restrictionsBenefitsPermanent position with a salary range of $90,000 – $146,000, starting pay dependent on skills, experience and work locationComprehensive compensation package including benefits, RRSP matching, vacation days and sick daysCommitted to flexible work hours and schedules, team‑based work and cross‑training opportunitiesEEO & DiversityMontrose is committed to providing a safe and productive work environment and to promoting the health, safety and well‑being of our employees.
