Role Description This is a full time, on-site role based at the Brookston Oaks Inc. brewery in Essex, ON. The Experienced Brewer will oversee the end-to-end brewing process for gluten-free craft beer, including milling, mashing, boiling, fermentation, conditioning, and packaging. Day-to-day responsibilities include monitoring quality and consistency, maintaining detailed production records, performing routine equipment cleaning and maintenance, and adhering to safety and sanitation standards. The role also involves recipe development and refinement, collaborating with the team on new product ideas, and managing inventory of raw materials and supplies.



The brewer will support continuous improvement by identifying process efficiencies, troubleshooting production issues, and ensuring compliance with relevant food and beverage regulations.
Qualifications

- Demonstrated expertise in brewing processes, including experience with gluten-free or specialty beer production.
- Strong knowledge of brewing science, fermentation, ingredients, and recipe formulation.
- Ability to operate, clean, and maintain brewing and packaging equipment safely and efficiently.
- Attention to detail in quality control, record-keeping, and adherence to sanitation and safety protocols.
- Physical ability to perform brewery work, including lifting, standing for extended periods, and working in varying temperatures.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate across production and operations.
- Experience in a commercial brewery or related beverage production environment; previous lead or supervisory experience is an asset.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements related to food and beverage production; commitment to maintaining high compliance standards.
- Flexibility to work varying shifts as needed to support production schedules.
- Formal brewing education, certification, or relevant technical training is preferred but not required.
