The purpose of this position is to provide engineering support for gas turbine engines repair and overhaul activities. Lead engine components repair development projects. Perform Continuing Airworthiness activities required to support aero engines maintenance, repair and overhaul. Carry out engineering studies as necessary. Secondary duties to include hazard assessment and determination of gas turbine engine components probability of in-service failure.Compensation: $85,000 - $100,000Vacancy Reason: ReplacementCarry out investigations on engines or parts that have been returned for repair or overhaul to determine the reasons for defects and recommend remedial action using root cause analysisIssue engineering instructions to define engine specific R&O; work scopesLiaise with the Material Control Board. Perform engine parts recertification,



if requiredReview Overhaul and Inspection Reports directed to Engineering by R&O; planners to determine the ultimate disposition of deviating partMust be able to make decisions using basic engineering principles and knowledge of the part’s function in the engine to assess whether a part is acceptable as is, requires a rework of some form or must be scrapped as being beyond usable or economical recoveryDevelop recent or modify existing repair schemes to fix unserviceable gas turbine engine componentsMust be able to analyze data to establish trending patterns and make a decision for use or recovery of partsSupport Continuing Airworthiness activities including technical publications reviewMay need to interpret the R&O; manual requirements for inspection, planning or engine assembly personnelPosition RequirementsRequired5 years relevant Mechanical Engineering experience in aeronautical product development, manufacturing or R&OBachelor;’s and/or Master’s degree in Aerospace,
