OverviewMD, Client Documentation Onboarding – BMO Capital MarketsDivision: Ventes et service, Marchés des capitaux. Location: 100 King Street West. Job description includes leading the Client Documentation Onboarding capability within Client Enablement, coordinating standard processes, and resolving complex risk issues in document negotiations (e.G., ISDAs, CSA, Prime Finance agreements) to enable onboarding for Global Markets.ResponsibilitiesNegotiations Orchestration: Build and oversee an engagement model between Sales, Client Onboarding, Legal, Credit, and other stakeholders; partner with Product Management and Technology delivery to support productive, transparent negotiations; lead cases and risk issues to a successful onboarding outcome within risk appetite; monitor and intervene in the portfolio as needed.Stakeholder Management: Develop trusted relationships with stakeholders; collaborate with internal teams to advance documentation risk decisions and negotiations; identify systemicfixesand prioritize issues; perform post-mortem reviews and share recommendations to improve cross-functional processes; develop rapid escalation procedures for senior management when needed; keep abreast of market trends with internal and external professionals.Client Experience: Focus on delivering a superior onboarding experience for sales and clients through process ownership and indirect involvement in select negotiations; gather feedback from clients and internal partners to continuously improve the negotiation process and experience.Performance Metrics and Reporting: Define, measure,



and monitor metrics related to documentation and credit adjudication processes; provide regular updatesto senior management on onboarding and documentation completion against KPIs.Management and Leadership: Manage, mentor, coach, and support team resources; handle hiring andresource balance.QualificationsStrong legal and/or credit risk experience related to capital markets products (derivatives, prime, etc.). Qualified lawyer with practical experience negotiating derivative legal agreements is strongly desired; note that practice of law is not provided within this role.Experience leading sell-side legal and/or credit negotiations in the first line of defense or equivalent.Excellent communication, negotiation, leadership, and judgment; ability to develop data-informed, well-structured arguments; capacity to engage withstakeholders at all levels to solve complex high-stakes issues.Proven ability to work with cross-functional teams to understand legal and credit risks and to address onboarding documentation effectively.CompensationThe salary range for this role is CAD 170,000 to 210,000 (subject to skills, experience, education, and qualifications).About Us and PoliciesBMO is committed to an inclusive, equitable, and accessible workplace.
