The majority of consults are from the Emergency Department, but may also come from other services or departments both internal and external to Nova Scotia Health.About YouMaster’s Degree in a health-related field such as Social Work or Psychology is required. Consideration may be given to other Masters health-related disciplines, with a clinical undergrad, based on demonstrated equivalencies.Registered (or eligible) for licensure with appropriate licensing body (Nova Scotia College of Social Workers (NSCSW) or Nova Scotia Board of Examiners (NSBEP)).Two (2) years' clinical experience specific to Mental Health & Addictions,



with preference for experience in conducting crisis response/urgent care risk assessments and consultation services in Emergency Departments and/or mobile crisis in the community.Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI).Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS).Experience with or application of DSM.Demonstrate solid skills in conducting mental status exams, focused on comprehensive assessment, and risk assessments.Knowledge of legislation and responsibilities related to Involuntary Psychiatric Treatment Act (IPTA), Provincial Access Navigation Standards and Policies, Children & Family Services Act, Adult Protection Act and applicable NSH policy & standards.Competencies in other languages are an asset; French preferred.HoursCasual position, no guaranteed hours.Compensation And BenefitsClinical Therapist: $42.21 - $58.30 hourly.Clinical Therapist (Developmental): $37.64 - $49.93 hourly.Equal OpportunityNova Scotia Health is committed to being a workforce that is free of discrimination, values diversity, and is representative, at all job levels, of the people we serve.
