Job Summary and ResponsibilitiesResponsible for the delivery of secure, effective, and quality patient‑family centered care in the OR and other perioperative services for all patient populations. Functions as an RN first assistant during operative and other invasive procedures and throughout the perioperative continuum in accordance with scope of practice credentials, privileges, experience, education, and competency verification. This position requires providing service to one or more age populations, including ill neonates through geriatric patients, in a manner that demonstrates an understanding of the functional/developmental age of the individual served. The employee must fully understand and actively participate in fulfilling the Mission of the Organization, demonstrate behavior consistent with the Core Values, and support the Organization’s strategic plan and Performance Improvement Plan (PIP).Job RequirementsMinimum QualificationsCurrent California RN LicenseCurrent AHA ACLS, BLS, and PALS certificationsGraduate of an RN School of NursingRNFA or CRNFA certificationThree (3) years operating room experience as an RN or one (1) year of current surgical first assistant experienceMinimum fifty (50) core procedures completed within the past 24 monthsWorking knowledge of performance improvement, licensure, and accreditation requirementsKnowledge of Microsoft Office, Outlook,
and the InternetDemonstrated capacity for teaching, organizing, planning, and developmentStrong interpersonal communication and customer relation skillsKnowledge of word processing and spreadsheet applicationsPreferred QualificationsThree (3) years operating room experience preferredPrior orthopaedic and/or cardiothoracic experience preferredBachelor’s degree in a health‑related field preferredCNOR certification preferredWhere You’ll WorkSt. Josephs Medical Center is a member of Dignity Health.
