Band Saw Operator / Material Handler

Linmark Steel Inc. is looking for a reliable and experienced Band Saw Operator / Material Handler to join our structural steel fabrication team.

This position involves operating industrial band saw equipment, handling structural steel, and moving and organizing material throughout the shop and yard. The ideal candidate will have previous experience in a structural steel or fabrication environment and be comfortable working safely around heavy steel, machinery, and material-handling equipment.

Responsibilities

- Operate industrial band saws and other material-cutting equipment
- Read and interpret shop drawings, cut lists, and measurements
- Measure, mark, cut, and verify structural steel to required dimensions
- Cut material including beams, channels, angles, pipe, tubing, and other structural steel
- Operate forklifts and telehandlers to move material throughout the shop and yard
- Load and unload trucks and material deliveries
- Safely handle long, heavy, and irregular structural steel loads
- Stage and organize material for fitters, welders, and fabrication crews
- Identify, sort,



and maintain proper material organization
- Use material-handling equipment safely and efficiently
- Perform daily equipment inspections and report maintenance or safety concerns
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area
- Follow Linmark Steel safety procedures and shop requirements
- Work closely with shop supervision and other team members to maintain efficient production flow

Required Experience & Qualifications
- Previous band saw or industrial saw experience
- Forklift experience required
- Telehandler experience required
- Previous experience working in a structural steel, welding, or fabrication shop
- Ability to read shop drawings, cut lists, and measurements
- Solid tape-measure and basic math skills
- Comfortable handling long and heavy structural steel
- Forklift and telehandler certifications are preferred
- Strong attention to detail and ability to produce accurate cuts
- Mechanically inclined and comfortable operating industrial equipment
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently as well as part of a team
- Strong commitment to workplace safety
- Experience operating an overhead crane is an asset

Pay: From $27.00 per hour
