The Data Governance team plays a key role in ensuring data-driven decisions are supported by robust governance, privacy standards, and stakeholder collaboration. Our work enhances data access, reduces duplication, and fosters innovation – delivering more efficient, effective services for Albertans.Role ResponsibilitiesAs aData Governance Analyst, you will be part of a team leading initiatives to support the implementation of aData Governance Programand the Health Analytics Roadmap to improve how data is managed and used. Reporting to the Manager of Data Governance, the Data Governance Analyst will play a key role in understanding and assessing the current data landscape and implement a robust data governance framework. Your contribution will help shape the future of Alberta’s health care through strategic data governance.Working closely with data owners, internal and external stakeholders across a federated health ecosystem, you will help ensure data governance practices and best practices are being applied consistently.Responsibilities include:Develop and maintain data governance policies, processes, and guidelines.Establish data standards and definitions to ensure consistency, accuracy,



and high trust in data.Design and implement data governance metrics to track compliance, adoption, and performance.Develop and maintain metadata standards for structure, organization, and accessibility while overseeing data classification, quality assessment, monitoring, and improvement processes.Facilitate cross-functional collaboration to drive accountability, supporting effective data use and data governance initiatives.Prepare clear documentation, presentation, and recommendations for diverse stakeholder groups.Recommend improvements to data governance processes as business, technology, and regulatory requirements evolve.Provide guidance, training and support to promote data governance adoption and advance data literacy across the health sector.Support Data Governance Committee operations, engagement, and stakeholder coordination as needed.Competencies are behaviors that are essential to reach our goals in serving Albertans.
