And that’s where you come in.Toronto, Ontario, Canada (Hybrid)Position SummaryWe are looking for a Hardware Project Lead to join our team in Toronto. The successful candidate will lead a team of hardware designers in a role of Hardware Work‑Package Manager and deliver on all project requirements for hardware deliverables within allocated budget, schedule, and scope, while maintaining the highest level of quality. The role involves designing new or revising existing hardware products, equipment, and installations, utilizing processes based on established engineering process, applying engineering design best‑practices, principles, and design methodologies.Key ResponsibilitiesPlanning of group activities on one or multiple projects by using the appropriate management tools to define and schedule the tasksVerifying that all assigned work has been completed accurately, efficiently, and on timeResponsible for the quality and integrity of the hardware designs and all related documentation, for conducting technical reviews, and for ensuring changes are in line with objectivesEnsuring that assigned work proceeds according to project schedule, within budget, and in accordance with all requirements – including revising plans and forecasts as required to accommodate changes in circumstancesMay be required to perform administrative tasks such as approving timesheets, vacation requests and may assist in the selection, appraisal, and evaluation of staff as requiredCarries out all assigned work efficiently, with a minimum of supervision, in accordance with company and departmental processesPresents effective solutions to problems or inefficiencies in the department’s operationMakes timely decisions, both independently and in concert with others,



after a thorough evaluation of all relevant factorsKeeps track of progress on all assigned tasks and verifies that all assigned work has been completed accuratelyEnsures both the safety and quality of hardware products while reducing the deployment cost of those productsContributes to the heightened reuse of product hardware and contributes to improvements in hardware qualityPrepares specifications for hardware and/or software components or devicesInterprets, identifies, and documents requirements such that customer needs are met within the budget and schedule constraintsDevelops appropriate design architectureReviews any applicable specifications, standards, rules, etc. and ensures that the appropriate actions resulting from this review have been takenImplement designs using good design practice and applicable standards and guidelinesMaking efficient re‑use of existing designsRequired Skills and ExperienceBachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent10+ years of experience in industry with a) Cabling; b) Grounding techniquesand c) Surge ProtectionElectrical engineering principles with power circuit design; electronic circuits including microprocessors and telecommunications circuitsExperience with engineering tools like CAD system (AutoCAD); multi‑meter; oscilloscope and protocol analyzersWell‑developed verbal skills to allow clear communication without ambiguityProven track record in designing complex electrical or electronics productsWell‑developed writing skills to allow documents, work packages, etc. to be prepared in a clear and concise format with sufficient information so that further clarification is not requiredThe ability to follow directions and work instructions, and to use good judgement in the performance of assigned workThe ability to effectively present pros and cons for various courses of actionProficient skills,
