In the Digital Content Producer role, you will work alongside marketing, communications and programs teams to produce engaging and informative content for external and internal audiences. You will learn about Habitat for Humanity’s work in Canada and around the world and how to drive engagement, advocacy and fundraising for a cause that matters.What you will do75%: Social mediaOriginate, produce and publish engaging social media content including graphics, short-form videos, stories, and reels for Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, and TikTok.Collaborate with the marketing and communications team to tell compelling stories about Habitat for Humanity’s national and global programs and advocacy and fundraising campaigns.Build on the organization’s social strategy with creative ideas for content that maintain Habitat’s brand and speak to our priority audiences.Maintain a consistent brand voice in keeping with our brand and style guides.Monitor social channels, respond to comments, and help grow online community engagement.Organize and manage digital assets while learning best practices for brand consistency.25%: Intranet contentYou will support the global programs team to organize information and reporting from Habitat for Humanity International to share with local Habitat for Humanity organizations across Canada.Adapt the information for Habitat for Humanity’s intranet in Microsoft SharePoint.Organize and publish the updates using SharePoint for Canada’s Habitat for Humanity network.What you will gainMentorship: Work closely with experienced marketing, communications and non‑profit/NGO professionals who will guide you through the creative process.Portfolio development: Build a collection of real-world social media content for a global brand.Transferable skills: Learn social media strategy, content creation,
and analytics in a professional setting.Networking: Connect with industry professionals and gain insight into non‑profit marketing and communications.Knowledge: Learn about the affordable housing crisis in Canada and globally and the solutions offered by the world’s leading housing charity.What we are looking forBasic skills in video editing and graphic design using tools such as Canva or Adobe Creative Suite.Familiar with or willingness to learn publishing in Microsoft’s SharePoint.Strong short‑form writing skills with a commitment to accuracy, good grammar and spelling.An interest in solutions to the global affordable housing crisis.An interest in the non‑profit, charitable or international development sector.Creative mindset and attention to detail.Eagerness to learn and contribute to a cooperative team.Location: Toronto (Hybrid) Compensation: $17.60 per hour Contract Duration: 8 weeksThis position is funded by the Government of Canada through the Canada Summer Jobs program. Candidates must be between the ages of 15 and 30, be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred, and have a valid SIN Number.
