Join to apply for theCustoms & Logistics Specialistrole atG&W; Electric Co.Customs and Logistics SpecialistReporting to the Supply Chain Manager, The Customs & Logistics Specialist is responsible for ensuring that all import and export activities comply with applicable customs regulations, trade laws, and internal company policies. This role manages and audits customs documentation, coordinates with customs/freight brokers, government agencies, and internal parties to ensure seamless import/export operations. The Logistics & Customs Specialist also identifies process improvements to reduce delays, costs, and risks related to international and domestic shipments.As a Customs And Logistics Specialist You WillAnalyze and audit import and export documentation to ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulationsConduct regular risk assessments to identify potential areas of vulnerability and implement corrective action plans as requiredProvide advice to internal parties on customs/regulatory requirements, HTS classifications, and trade programsCoordinate with internal teams and external partners to ensure seamless import/export operationsMonitor and stay abreast changes in customs laws and international trade policiesClassify imported and exported materials under the appropriate HTS codes and verify country of originMaintain HTS code database for both imported and exported materialsExpedite/manage custom releases to ensure on time deliveryCollect, organize, and manage USMCA and other applicable free trade certificates from raw material suppliers to minimize duty impact and ensure complianceConduct regular analysis and maintain reporting on duties paidManage duty recovery and duty drawbacks with customs agencies/broker as necessaryManage all customs and broker inquiries, working with customs brokers, internal team members, and regulatory bodiesConduct analysis, prepare documentation,



and manage communications for regulatory inquiriesAssist with developing and maintaining standard operating procedures as it relates to trade complianceOther duties as assignedWe Are Looking For Someone WhoBachelor’s degree in operations management, supply chain, business administration, or related fieldMinimum 5 years of experience in a similar roleCertified Customs Specialist (CCS) or equivalent designationStrong knowledge of harmonized system (HS) codes, incoterms, and international trade agreementsWorking knowledge of JD Edwards Oracle or equivalent ERP systemExcellent computer software skills including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project etc.Ability to multi-task under pressure in a high paced environmentExcellent analytical, organizational, and problem solvingStrong communication skills, both verbal and written in EnglishWhat We Offer YouTypical base pay is $59,000–81,000 annually. Please note the pay information shown above is a general guideline. Pay is based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications.
