Job DetailsReq ID:218419Location:Northern Zone, Colchester East Hants Health CentreDepartment:PEC Corporate Affairs & Int EngageType of Employment:Temporary, Hourly FT long‑assignment (100%) x 1Unit:MGMT/NON‑UnionAbout The OpportunityReporting to a member of the Communications and Marketing management team, the Senior Communications Advisor collaborates with groups throughout the organization to provide communications and engagement advice to advance relationships with NS Health staff, physicians and patients. Working closely with colleagues, the position plans, implements, and evaluates communication and engagement activities that build and strengthen the organization’s response to issues, challenges and opportunities, bridging the gap between Nova Scotia Health and its patients, staff, physicians, medical learners, volunteers, system partners and interest holders.This position will primarily support Nova Scotia Health’s Northern Zone.About YouWe want to hear from you if you have the following:Minimum of five years’ relevant experience in the communications and public relations sector.Knowledge of best practice related to communications, public relations, engagement, media relations, crisis communications and online engagement.System‑focused thinking with strong analysis and decision‑making skills.Excellent communication,



presentation and organizational skills.Ability to support internal and external team-oriented relationships; ability to work effectively within cross‑departmental teams.Experience with high‑profile public relations issues and in reputation management.Interest and ability to work within social media; ability to use current technology to communicate effectively.Ability to manage projects, delivering on budget and on time.Assets include:Knowledge of IAP2 principles and practicesKnowledge of change theory and change management practicesExperience in the health sectorExceptional skills in preparing web, social media, and online engagement strategies with demonstrated success in developing effective content and engaging audiences.Demonstrated success in desktop publishing and basic layout design.HoursLong assignment full‑time position; 75 hours biweeklyApproximately for 12 months; dates are subjectto changeThis role utilizes a hybrid work modelCompensation And BenefitsHourly: $41.95 – $52.43Successful candidates may be eligible for a benefits package which includes health, dental, travel, long‑term disability, and life insurance coverage as well as a defined benefit pension plan.EEO StatementNova Scotia Health is committed to being a workforce that is free of discrimination, values diversity, and is representative, at all job levels, of the people we serve.
