Child and Youth Caregiver – Group Home Program

Location: Calgary, AB

Employment Type: Full-time / Part-time / Relief (customize as needed)

[24 - 32 hrs per week]

Our programs focus on stability, cultural connection, skill building, and individualized care through trauma-informed and strength-based practices.

Position Summary

We are seeking dedicated, reliable, and compassionate Child and Youth Caregivers to join our team. Caregivers play a vital role in supporting children and youth with daily living, emotional regulation, routines, and personal growth while maintaining a protected and supportive home environment.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide daily supervision, guidance, and support to children and youth in care
- Implement trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and strengths-based approaches
- Support youth with routines, school attendance, appointments, and community activities
- Complete documentation, incident reports, shift notes, and care logs as required
- Assist with household cleaning, meal prep, and maintaining home safety
- Manage crisis situations using approved policies and non-violent intervention strategies
- Work collaboratively with the team, supervisors, and external professionals
- Participate in team meetings, training,



and ongoing professional development

Qualifications

- Child and Youth Care Diploma, Social Work, Psychology, or related field (asset but not required for some roles)
- Experience in group homes, residential care, or working with high-needs youth preferred
- Valid First Aid/CPR Level C
- Police Clearance + Vulnerable Sector Check (required)
- Child Intervention Check (required)
- Valid driver’s licence and access to a reliable vehicle (asset)
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and conflict-resolution skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and overnights (as needed)
