This role supports the full bid lifecycle including bid review, quantity takeoffs, subcontractor coordination, pricing analysis, proposal development, and project handoff to operations.Key ResponsibilitiesPrepare detailed cost estimates and quantity takeoffs for heavy civil construction projects managing full estimating lifecycle, from bid document review through submission and project close‑out.Review project specifications, drawings, and contract documents to determine scope and constructability.Coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain pricing,
particularly for electrical and other specialized scopes.Develop and write technical proposals and bid documentation to support project submissions.Support technical writing and communication required for bid packages and internal reviews.Analyze project schedules and understand impacts on cost and resources.Utilize scheduling knowledge, including familiarity with Primavera P6, to interpret construction timelines during estimating.Collaborate with internal teams to ensure accurate cost assumptions and bid strategies.Participate in post‑bid reviews and contribute to project close‑out and lessons learned for future estimates.Lead project meetings and resolve issues in a timely and skilled manner.Education and experiencePost secondary degree/diploma/certificate or equivalent in Civil Engineering or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.10+ years of combined experience in construction project management and estimating, preferably in ICI (Industrial, Commercial, Institutional) or infrastructure sectors.Skills and QualificationsExperience estimating heavy civil or infrastructure construction projects.Demonstrated experience with construction estimating, quantity takeoffs, and bid preparation.Proficiency with HeavyBid estimating software is preferred.Understanding of construction schedules and Primavera P6 is an asset.Ability to review and interpret technical drawings, plans, and specifications.Strong technical writing and proposal development skills.Excellent communication and subcontractor coordination abilities.Knowledge of self‑performed construction capabilities and subcontractor management.This is an onsite position in Mississauga, ON.What Amico Can Offer YouCompetitive Salary (Range between $140,000 to $160,000)Medical, dental, and vision insuranceEmployer Matching Retirement ProgramLife insuranceAt Amico, we are committed to providing an environment of mutual respect where equal opportunities are available to all applicants and teammates.
