This is a senior, self‑directed role for a practitioner who thrives across the full automation lifecycle — from design and programming through commissioning, field support, and operational handover.ResponsibilitiesLead the design, development, and delivery of PLC and SCADA systems for municipal and industrial infrastructure projects.Independently program, test, and commission control systems in live plant environments.Execute on‑site and remote troubleshooting, including scheduled and unscheduled service support.Develop control narratives, technical specifications, and system documentation that support safe and reliable operations.Configure and deploy SCADA/HMI platforms, including graphics, communications, and databases.Design and support industrial OT networks, enabling secure data flow between PLCs, SCADA, and enterprise systems.Collaborate with multidisciplinary project teams while maintaining solid independent delivery accountability.Required SkillsDemonstrated hands‑on PLC programming experience with Rockwell Automation platforms (ControlLogix, CompactLogix, MicroLogix); experience with EmersonRX3i, Schneider Modicon (M340/M580), or GE Fanuc is an asset.Expert level experience configuring and supporting iFix, and AVEVA; experience with VTScadaand/or Ignition, ClearSCADA, Survalent, or Geo SCADA considered valuable.Proven implementation and troubleshooting experience with industrial communication protocols (OPC UA, Modbus RTU/TCP, EtherNet/IP, Profibus, Foundation Fieldbus).Practical experience in system commissioning, startup support, and operator assistance.Strong understanding of industrial networking, including Ethernet (copper/fibre), segmentation, and firewalls.Ability to produce control system specifications, PCNs, architecture diagrams,
