Overview Heavy Civil/Structural Engineer (Bridge, Tunnel, Marine) – Toronto. Regular, full-time, hybrid work arrangement. The role focuses on collaboration on North America’s infrastructure programs, with emphasis on bridge, tunnel, and marine work. We develop versatile engineers who can apply their skills across disciplines and promote continuous learning. We are seeking a Heavy Civil/Structural Engineer to join our collaborative team in Toronto. You will work with experts on impactful projects and coordinate with CAD/BIM modelers to integrate multiple engineering disciplines. Responsibilities Perform and lead duties including structural analysis, steel and concrete design, and evaluations, developing work plans, schedules, and budgets for heavy civil (structural) projects, including bridges. Prepare coherent and organized design calculations and drawings in accordance with applicable design codes. Create standard documents such as technical and construction specifications under applicable design codes, including engineering reports and other technical documentation. Liaise with clients, professionals, and third parties to ensure project success and facilitate knowledge exchange. Collaborate with CAD and BIM modelers to bring client visions to life, including projects that integrate different engineering disciplines. Conduct inspections and site visits as necessary to gain practical experience in diverse environments. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Structural Engineering or higher, with a minimum of 5 years of related experience in heavy civil structural design (bridge, tunnel,
marine structures), or an equivalent combination of education and work experience. Be a registered Professional Engineer in the home province or state, or demonstrate ability to obtain registrations within 12 months of employment. Experience with structural design codes such as CSA S6 and/or AASHTO. Exposure to structural analysis software (e.G., CSI Bridge, MIDAS, SOFiSTiK). Proficiency in engineering and drafting software such as Excel, Mathcad, AutoCAD and Bluebeam Revu for producing calculations and supporting documentation.
