If you love working with students, enjoy teaching language skills, and want to help others build their academic confidence, this position is perfect for you.Position Overview:As a Teacher-Tutor at Oxford Learning, you will have the opportunity to work with Elementary students in reading, writing, math and French and/or with High School students in math (through Calculus), physics, chemistry, biology, and English. Our Tutors do not have to worry about lesson planning, as all lessons are pre-planned. You will be fully trained in our proprietary philosophy and methods, allowing you to focus on what you do best – teaching!Position RequirementsAvailability during after-school and evening hours (3:00 pm - 8:00 pm)Commitment through to the end of the 2025-26 school year (June 26th), with the possibility of continuing through the summerIn-person instructionAbility to commute to the designated location (no relocation packages available)Mandatory vulnerable sector screeningEducationBachelor’s degree or similar certification in a relevant fieldThird-year university students with tutoring experience will be consideredWorking towards or having a teaching certification is an assetGood knowledge of the current Kindergarten to Grade 12 curriculumKnowledge of high school sciences and math an assetAbilty to teach French an asset but not requiredExperienceSome experience teaching/tutoring at a Kindergarten to Grade 12 (or equivalent) levelStrong English written and oral communication skills and ability to guide students' understandingThe ability to teach French is also highly desiredAbility to multitask and balance working with up to three students at a timeResponsibilitiesAs an Interactive Coach, you will:Teach up to 4 students at a timeFollow the Oxford Learning methodologies and philosophiesComplete daily student communication updatesMaintain a friendly and professional demeanour at all times (create a fun learning environment)Smiles, High-Fives & Happy StudentsIn this role, you will help students develop their self-confidence and self-esteem.
