Individual support workers are responsible for one on one support workers with young children with developmental and intellectual disabilities using a variety of applied behavior analysis techniques. Individual support workers provide services at a child’s home. Supervision and training is provided by the service coordinator and agency
Job requirements are listed below:
Provide assistance to behavioral therapists in developing behavioral therapy programs.
Provide behavioral interventions to children and adolescents in home and community settings.
Implements an individualized service plan for each child and youngster.
Manage and work with youth with behavioral problems.
Develop and initiate safety standards for youth at all times.
Monitor, record, and document observations of youth behavior.
Modify daily activities of youth appropriate to behavioral interventions.
Instruct youths on positive behavioral aspects.
Develop and initiate appropriate recreational activities for youth.
Qualifications:
Ideal applicants should have experience working with children and/or adolescents
Good interpersonal skills
Able to maintain valuable working relationships with families and other specialists
Knowledge of developmental and intellectual disabilities
Valuable Time-Management skills
Enjoy working with kids
Job specific training is provided
Educational Requirement:
College Diploma in child and youth worker (CYW) social care
CPR Qualification
Safety care
Educational assistance
