Job Summary

CEY childcare is seeking a reliable , organized, and energetic Day Care Cook to prepare nutritious, fresh, balanced, and age appropriate meals and snacks for children in our center. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining a clean, protected, and well organized kitchen following food safety practices and center's policies and procedures. We are looking for someone who supports child's well being by ensuring healthy meals for young children served on time and and in accordance with the day care approved menu and dietary requirements. The candidate must be aware of allergies, intolerances, and dietary restrictions.

Responsibilities
Monitor kitchen inventory, food quality, expiry dates, storage conditions, and supplies, and will communicate with the director.
Prepare and serve nutritious meals and snacks in accordance with dietary guidelines and safety standards
Maintain awareness of children's allergies, intolerances, dietary restrictions, and special dietary requirements.
Follow all food handling, safety protocols,



and hygiene procedures during meal preparation and service preventing cross contamination.
Ensure kitchen, refrigerator and freezer temperature, and dry storage areas remain clean and up to date.
Perform other responsibilities or duties assigned by the Director.

Requirements
Prior experience in food service or food handling within a childcare or similar setting is highly desirable
Physically fit to bend, lift, carry and move safely food supplies and kitchen equipment.
Knowledge of meal preparation, cooking, and food safety practices in a daycare or restaurant workplace
Food safety, food Handler certification is a must.
Monitor and record food temperatures when required.
Complete daily and scheduled kitchen cleaning and sanitization duties.

Pay: $16.50-$18.00 per hour
