Guided by our core values of courage, compassion, connection, and commitment, we strive for excellence, innovation, and meaningful community impact.Position SummaryThe Community Garden Coordinator oversees the planning, coordination, and delivery of programs at the Alex Taylor School Community Garden. The role supports community members in growing food through individual garden plots and a shared communal space, while fostering inclusive participation and engagement. Through coordination of drop-in programming and garden activities, the position promotes community connection, food access, and collaborative stewardship of the garden.ScheduleMonday to Friday with flexible hours, including a minimum of 2 hours during operational hours (8:30 AM – 4:30 PM)Occasional evening and weekend shifts may be requiredTemporary Part‑Time: 10 hours per week (40 hours per month), ending September 30, 2026Key ResponsibilitiesCoordinate and oversee all aspects of the community garden throughout the growing season.Foster an inclusive, welcoming garden environment that promotes community connection and engagement.Support and develop shared gardening spaces to increase access to fresh food for the community.Plan and deliver workshops, tours,



and community events within the garden.Promote garden programs and activities through outreach, social media, and community partnerships.Build and maintain positive relationships with participants, community members, and partners, ensuring a safe and respectful space.Maintain records, track participation, prepare reports, and communicate regularly with the team and stakeholders.QualificationsEducationEnrollment in post‑secondary education in nutrition, education, child and youth care, social work, or a related field is considered an asset.CertificationValid Class 5 Driver's License; vehicle recommended, with proof of vehicle insurance, registration and 3‑year driver abstract.AHS Food Safety Basics online course is considered an asset.ExperienceDemonstrated ability to engage effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds and lived experiences.Experience with or robust interest in gardening, particularly food growing and community gardening.Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.Positive, engaging attitude with strong interpersonal skills.Compensation And BenefitsCompetitive Salary: $19.98 per hourEmployee Family Assistance Program (EFAP)Professional Development OpportunitiesAt e4c, diversity is our strength.
