We are looking for an experienced and compassionate Personal Support Worker (PSW) / Senior Caregiver to provide private, in-home care for an elderly female stroke patient.

Schedule: Approximately 8–10 hours per day, ideally 12:00 PM–10:00 PM, with regular daily availability preferred.

Responsibilities
Assist with toilet transfers and toileting
Assist with showering and personal hygiene
Assist with bed-to-chair and chair-to-bed transfers
Provide mobility assistance and ensure safety during transfers
Administer medication through a G-tube (appropriate training/experience required)
Prepare and cook meals according to dietary needs
Light housekeeping related to the patient’s living areas, including cleaning the bedroom, kitchen, washroom and sitting area
Provide general daily support, supervision and companionship

About the Patient

She is a stroke patient with left-sided paralysis affecting her arm and leg. She is unable to walk independently and requires assistance with transfers and daily activities.

She also has:




High blood pressure
Diabetes
Iron deficiency

Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone who is reliable, patient, caring and experienced with patients who have significant mobility limitations. Previous experience caring for stroke patients is strongly preferred.

Because medication must be given through a G-tube, candidates should have appropriate training and demonstrated experience with G-tube care/medication administration.

This is a private, long-term position, and we are ideally looking for someone who can provide consistent care and become familiar with the patient’s routine and needs.
