This includes the review and presentation of financial projections using leading software and advising clients on financial, retirement and estate planning goals.The ideal candidate is a proactive and engaged people person who takes pride in helping clients navigate the complexities of financial, tax, and estate planning. They have a strategic mindset, attention to detail, and strives to be the gold standard in client service excellence, with a passion and proven history of forming bonds and working with clients and business families.This role requires the successful candidate to work onsite in the office for a minimum of four days per week.RESPONSIBILITIESCollect and analyze information pertinent to clients’ financial goalsOffer insight on clients’ financial, tax, retirement and estate planning goalsPrepare and review financial projections using leading softwareReview and interpret financial projections with clients and Investment AdvisorsIdentify potential tax minimization and planning opportunities for clientsExplain rules and concepts to clients and Investment Advisors relating to personal, corporate, and trust income tax,
registered and non-registered accounts, trusts and estates, pensions and government benefitsDevelop timely tax and personal finance-related articles and bulletinsParticipate in the preparation and delivery of internal seminars and external presentationsCOMPETENCIESAdvising and Coaching – Use knowledge and relationships to assess the needs of internal or external stakeholders, come up with recommendations, and provide coaching or advice that helps them solve challenges, grow and/or reach their goalsCustomer Relationship Management – Build, manage, and nurture client relationships, leveraging CRM tools to track interactions, understand client needs, and deliver consistent serviceFinancial Planning – Develop comprehensive financial strategies or recommend products that align resources or assets with clients' long-term goals, balancing income, investments, savings, and expendituresProcess Improvement and Documentation – Uncover, understand, document, optimize and communicate processes to make them more efficient, effective, and consistentModelling and Forecasting – Envision, build, maintain, update and share financial models and forecasting tools that can project or extrapolate data trends to inform business decision making, planning and strategyRegulatory Knowledge – Understand and apply relevant laws, regulations, and standards to meet legal and ethical requirements and reduce risk for clients and the firmRisk Assessment – Identify, analyze, and evaluate risks to make decisions and take actions that manage their likelihood and impact on achieving our objectives for the benefit of our clients, firm, and communitiesKNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCEProfessional accounting designation (CPA)
and a minimum of five years post-designation tax experience requiredCertified Financial Planner (CFP) designation preferred and required within two years of start dateCompletion of the CPA In-Depth tax program would be an assetStrong business acumen, judgment and savvy; excellent analytical and decision-making skillsSuperior written and verbal communication skillsSelf-motivated with a clear vision of what is required to be part of a high-performance teamA team player with a proven track record of building trusting and productive relationships with colleagues and clients alikeOther professional qualifications/designations relating to trusts and estates (TEP) and/or family enterprises (FEA) would be an assetWHAT WE OFFERA culture of openness, collaboration and respect is foundational to our firm.
