ensuring our fleet is in top condition. You will diagnose, repair, and maintain a variety of heavy-duty trucks and trailers, providing high-quality service that keeps our operations running smoothly. If you are passionate about working with heavy equipment and thrive in a fast-paced environment, this is the opportunity for you to advance your career.Essential Functions and Purpose:Diagnose, repair, and perform maintenance to diesel/gas engines, transmissions, rear ends, differentials, electrical/electronics, power systems, hydraulic systems, and other service work as requiredPerform repairs as per manufacturer specification on all OEM Class 6,7,8 vehiclesManage personal repair timesUpdate shop supervisor if technical assistance is required and/or additional repair time requiredMaintain all web-based training requirementsReport on the maintenance/use of tools and shop equipmentComplete all required documentationTag all failed parts and return coresMake warranty decisions as requiredUtilize diagnostic programs such as Techlane to satisfy warranty requirementsMake decisions on part re-use/failure analysisContact outside vendors as needed for technical assistance or repair authorizationRoad test – only with class 1/3 licenseComplete repair Quality Inspection reports when requiredProfessional level of detail & care on repairs to ensure quality repairs are completedProfessional customer service when requiredComply with the Health and Safety Program Assignment of Responsibility duties as listed for “Worker”Required Qualifications:Strong aptitude for diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance of large truck and trailers.Commercial Transport (Truck and Transport Mechanic) Journeyman Certificate (or Red Seal).Heavy Truck and Trailer subject matter expert.Heavy Duty Mechanic experience with on-highway trucks.Self-starter able to work in a fast-paced, detailed, and process-driven environment.Ability to work in a physical capacity, including heavy lifting and using tools throughout the shift.Must have own tools (required tool list will be provided).Class 5 driver's license with good drivers abstract.Class 1, Class 3, and MVI Certifications are a bonus (paid uplifts).Ability to effectively use standard computer programs such as Microsoft word and adobeWho we are:Velocity Truck Rental and Leasing aims to provide unparalleled support by offering various sales, vehicle maintenance, parts, collision, and financing services to the industry.
