Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Painter to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for applying paint, coatings, and finishes to various surfaces, ensuring high-quality standards and safety compliance. This role offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment where mechanical knowledge and proficiency with hand and power tools are essential. Prior experience in manufacturing, machining, or assembly is a plus, along with familiarity with lean manufacturing principles.
Duties
Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, and masking as needed
Apply primers, paints, stains, and finishes using brushes, rollers, or spray equipment
Operate machinery such as cranes and forklifts to move materials safely around the work area
Use hand tools and power tools to perform surface preparation and finishing tasks
Conduct quality checks to ensure coatings are applied evenly and meet specifications
Maintain a clean work setting by organizing tools and disposing of waste properly
Assist with assembly or machining tasks when required
Follow safety protocols including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
Support lean manufacturing initiatives to improve efficiency and reduce waste
Experience
Previous experience in painting within a manufacturing or industrial setting preferred
Mechanical knowledge related to machinery operation and maintenance is advantageous
Familiarity with welding, machining, or assembly processes is a plus
Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and surface preparation equipment effectively
Basic math skills for measurements and calculations during application processes
Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles to promote continuous improvement
Experience operating cranes or forklifts is beneficial but not mandatory; training will be provided if needed
