Position Overview

We are seeking a friendly, detail-oriented Optometric Assistant with a strong focus on patient pretesting and diagnostic imaging. The ideal candidate is organized, personable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced clinical environment while delivering outstanding patient care.

Key Responsibilities
Perform patient pretesting and diagnostic workups prior to the doctor examination
Conduct preliminary case history and accurately document patient information
Operate diagnostic equipment including OCT, retinal imaging, visual field testing, auto-refraction, and tonometry
Prepare patients for examinations and explain testing procedures clearly
Assist doctors during patient flow and maintain efficient clinic operations
Ensure exam rooms and equipment are clean, organized, and fully stocked
Support front desk and administrative duties as needed




Maintain accurate patient records within the EMR system

Qualifications
Previous experience in an optometry, ophthalmology, or medical clinic preferred
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Comfortable learning and operating medical diagnostic equipment
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to multitask in a rapid-paced environment
Medical administration or healthcare experience considered an asset
College or university graduate preferred
Must be able to work evenings and Saturdays
