Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated Carpenter Helper to assist skilled carpenters and construction teams in various residential projects. This role offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in carpentry and construction while supporting the completion of high-quality building projects. The ideal candidate will be eager to learn, dependable, and capable of performing physically demanding tasks in a quick-paced workplace.
Duties
Assist senior carpenters with measuring, cutting, and assembling materials according to project specifications
Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction plans under supervision
Operate hand tools, power tools, and basic equipment safely and effectively
Assist with framing, flooring, painting, finishing, siding installation, and other construction tasks as directed
Perform demolition, surface preparation, and restoration work as required
Handle and move construction materials safely to support project timelines
Maintain a clean, organized, and protected work area
Follow all workplace and construction safety protocols at all times
Solid physical stamina for heavy lifting and working on ladders or scaffolding
Handyman experience or general construction background is advantageous
Excellent teamwork skills with a focus on safety and quality standards
Skills
Basic knowledge of woodworking, framing and finishing installation techniques
Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and heavy equipment operation for construction tasks
Physical stamina for heavy lifting and prolonged periods of standing in hot and cold environments or working at heights
Handyman experience or general construction background is advantageous
Good communication skills to follow instructions clearly and work effectively within a team
Eagerness to learn new skills related to restoration projects and construction safety procedures
