Overview

A client of mine that is a full-scale design, build, and production operation based near Windsor, ON with over 35 years of experience in the automotive manufacturing industry.

The CNC Operator is responsible for creating quality parts produced on CNC machines according to company timelines, data provided and other diagrams.

Responsibilities
Loading parts, operating controls, setting offsets, simple edits, deburring and inspection of finished parts for conformance to size and finish requirements
Loading programs to machines to run the programs
Maintaining protected operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.
Maintaining equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements, following manufacturer’s instructions, troubleshooting malfunctions, letting CNC Supervisor know of any problems with the CNC machines
Computing dimensions and tolerances; measuring and laying out work pieces
Verifying dimensions of products for accuracy and conformance to specifications using precision measuring instruments
Reporting deviations from specifications and tolerances to supervisor




Maintaining continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs
Verifying dimensions of machined parts or tooling using micrometers, Vernier’s, calipers, height gauges or other specialized measuring instruments
Operate the Wire EDM Machine

Requirements
High School Diploma, GED or equivalent
Completion of a four-year apprenticeship program or a combination of work experience in the trade and some college or industry courses in machining
Minimum of 1 year of experience operating CNC machines in a heavy manufacturing setting
Power mill programming experience or working with power mill is an asset
Fanuc and Mitsubishi Controls experience
Experience setting up work pieces in vice, FCS system and run programs in a lean manufacturing setting
Able to use an edge finder and Interapid to establish an origin
Previous experience with an ERP system is an asset

Pay: $19.00-$33.00 per hour
