About the Role
Shift Physiotherapy is a multidisciplinary rehabilitation clinic in Scarborough seeking a Chiropodist to join our team on a casual/part-time basis.
We are primarily looking for someone with experience in custom foot orthotics, biomechanical assessments, orthopaedic footwear and foot-related conditions, with the opportunity to also provide general chiropody services within their scope.
This is a flexible opportunity suitable for a practitioner looking to build an additional caseload within an established rehabilitation clinic.
Responsibilities
Perform foot, gait and biomechanical assessments
Assess and prescribe custom foot orthotics
Complete casting, foam impressions and/or 3D scanning as appropriate
Fit, dispense and follow up on custom orthotics
Assess and recommend orthopaedic or custom footwear
Provide shoe modifications and bracing recommendations where appropriate
Assess and treat common foot and lower-extremity conditions within scope
Provide routine chiropody/foot-care services where applicable
Maintain accurate clinical documentation
Communicate and collaborate with physiotherapists,
physicians and other healthcare professionals
Complete appropriate insurance documentation for orthotics and footwear
Qualifications
Registered Chiropodist in good standing with the College of Chiropodists of Ontario
Current skilled liability insurance
Experience with custom foot orthotics and biomechanical assessments
Solid knowledge of footwear, gait and lower-extremity biomechanics
Excellent communication and documentation skills
Ability to work independently in a multidisciplinary setting
Preferred Experience
Custom orthotics casting and/or 3D scanning
Orthopaedic/custom footwear
Shoe modifications
Working with orthotic and footwear laboratories
Diabetic foot assessment and care
Private-practice experience
