Join Covenant House as a dedicated Youth Worker focused on transitional housing and life skills development. This full time role requires robust interpersonal skills and a commitment to trauma-informed support. As Canada's largest agency for homeless and at-risk youth, Covenant House is seeking a permanent Youth Worker to assist participants in their journey towards independence.
You will apply a trauma-informed approach to foster growth and stability among the youth. The role demands weekend shifts and involves shift coordination with a dedicated team. Key Responsibilities:
Support youth's transition to independent living
Conduct life skill sessions and assessments
Engage with participants in crisis situations
Delegate responsibilities to staff during shifts
Ensure safety in common areas and during building checks Requirements:
Diploma in child and youth work or related field
Minimum two years in shelter settings
Understanding of case management practices
Solid verbal and written communication skills
