Come join our team to be a part of this amazing opportunity!Reporting to the Assay Lab Superintendent, the Sample Prep Technician is responsible for performing routine sample preparation and analysis to support exploration and operations, while ensuring accurate results through adherence to established procedures, quality standards, and site safety requirements.Responsibilities (including but not limited to)Health, Safety and ComplianceComply with the health and safety guidelines, policies, and rules for the Eskay Creek site and laboratory.Adhere to laboratory Standard Operating Procedures, regulatory permit requirements, and ISO/IEC 17025 standards.Actively identify health and safety hazards, resolve safety issues, and help mitigate workplace risks.Laboratory OperationsPerform daily routine sample processing in accordance with established testing procedures.Maintain a thorough understanding of standard reference materials and their use in ensuring quality analysis.Conduct regular instrumentation maintenance and operate laboratory equipment competently.Documentation and CollaborationMaintain accurate laboratory records related to sample preparation, analysis, and equipment operation and maintenance.Work collaboratively with exploration and operations teams on testing priorities and deliverables.Perform other duties as reasonably assigned by the Employer.Additional DutiesPerform other duties as assigned.The Ideal CandidateEducation / QualificationsDegree in Chemistry, Mining Technology, Technical Diploma and/or High school Diploma with 3 years in a mining laboratory or a commercial lab that analyzes exploration samples.Familiarity with relevant BC and federal legislation and regulations (e.G., WorkSafe BC guidelines, Mines Act, Occupational Health and Safety Legislation) is desired.The ideal candidates will have practical experience and knowledge with industry acceptable sample preparation and analysis procedures.Must possess a valid Class 5 Driver’s Licence.Experience / SkillsA Minimum of 3-5 years of directly related experience is required.This role requires physical ability to lift, carry, and move materials weighing up to 50 lbs on a regular basis.Experience with Fire Assay & Wet Chemistry, ICP-OES, LECO or Eltra C/S.Experience with classical titration and gravimetric methods.Experience with Assay Net LIMS or other LIMS programs an asset.Understanding and compliance of ISO/IEC 17025 standards and policies.Proficient in Microsoft Excel.Understanding of WHIMS and SDS.Demonstrated experience in safety conscious culture, as well as awareness of, and adherence to, all required health and safety best practices.Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team environment or individually.Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.Strong organization skills, managing, tracking,



and recording multiple tasks and a heavy workload.Must be able to work a rotational schedule in a remote mining camp.Work Location & ConditionsThis is a site-based camp job at Eskay Creek Mine site. This position involves working at a remote mine site on a 15 days on/13 days off rotation.The Eskay Creek Revitalization Project is located within the Coast Mountains of Northwestern British Columbia and Tahltan Territory. Ground transportation will be provided from local communities to the Eskay Creek Site facilities. For those applicants located elsewhere in western Canada, flight transportation from major urban centers will be provided to the Terrace or Smithers airports, from which shuttles will provide transportation to the Eskay Creek Camp facilities. Travel time and expenses are subject to Skeena’s Travel Policy.There will be exposure to extreme temperatures in all seasons including working outdoors in snow, mud, ice, and water conditions, walking to and from different locations on uneven ground, prolonged periods of standing and physically handling/lifting/moving heavy objects.CompensationThe expected hourly range for this position is CAD $30-$43, in line with the competitive job market for such roles carried out in British Columbia. Salary ranges are guidelines and any job offer received by a candidate will be determined on a number of factors such as relevant education, training, and/or experience.All Applicants MUST be legally entitled to work in Canada.
