Join us as a temporary 1.0 FTE Counsellor in Gold River, BC, focusing on both elementary and secondary school students. This role is pivotal in supporting student well-being and academic success.
The contract runs from September 1, 2026, until October 13, 2026, or the return of the incumbent. You will work collaboratively to advocate for students, manage their diverse learning needs, and engage with parents. Effective communication, problem-solving, and conflict resolution skills will be essential in this role.
Key Responsibilities:
• Advocate for student needs and success
• Develop and implement IEPs and Behavioural Plans
• Facilitate classroom experiences for student learning
• Collaborate with community agencies
• Maintain communication with parents and guardians
Requirements:
• Master's in Counselling and BC Certification
• Valid Class 5 BC driver's license
• Proven ability to build student rapport
• Experience with MyEdBC student information system
• Flexibility to teach other subjects
