School District 71 is seeking two dedicated Indigenous Support Workers to aid secondary students. This role involves collaborating with educators and families while enhancing culturally responsive academic guidance. Successful candidates will possess knowledge of Indigenous cultures and a commitment to fostering inclusive environments for diverse learners.
Key Responsibilities:
• Enhance support for Indigenous students through guidance
• Act as a role model and promote Indigenous traditions
• Liaise with teachers and community agencies as an advocate
• Maintain records and track expenditures for support funds
• Support supervision of students when necessary
Requirements:
• Grade 12 education with 30 post-secondary credits
• Three years' experience working with Indigenous communities
• Indigenous ancestry and knowledge of local cultures
• Valid Class 5 B.C. driver's license
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
