Coquitlam School District, situated just a 40-minute drive from downtown Vancouver, is seeking on-call Youth Workers to support its 34,000 students. In this position, you'll report to the administrator and engage with students on educational, social, and emotional matters. A focus on family and cultural needs is key, along with providing career support.
Key Responsibilities:
• Support students with social, emotional, and educational needs
• Engage families in addressing cultural and career challenges
• Collaborate with teachers and staff to enhance student wellbeing
• Report to the administrator/designate regarding student progress
• Ensure adherence to school district's policies and protocols
Requirements:
• Completed two-year diploma in child/youth care
• Or two years of university coursework in Psychology or Sociology
• Valid Class 5 B.C Driver’s License
• Ability to pass two successful police checks
• Commitment to diversity and inclusion in support services
