OverviewThis role specifically focuses on the commissioning of Baggage Handling Systems (BHS). We are seeking professionals to join our team to help us build one of the most advanced, sustainable and passenger-friendly airports in the world. The position is based at our Project Office in the west end of Toronto, Ontario, requiring the candidate to be in the office Monday to Friday each week.Your RoleWork with the contractor(s) to define the commissioning strategy and plan for BHS, ensuring successful commissioning of the assets delivered through the program.Support the design process, attending key design reviews, reviewing and assuring the contractor's testing and commissioning plan, and overseeing the testing and commissioning phase of the program(s). Provide technical guidance and subject-matter expertise to the team as needed.Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to coordinate commissioning activities.Conduct site observation surveys and prepare field reports on the status and completion of projects with respect to plans and specifications.Review, document, and improve processes and workflows to eliminate inefficiencies and maximize team performance.Provide management-level performance reporting, highlighting key risks and mitigation plans.Coach, mentor, and support the career development of staff.Minimum RequirementsBA/BS in mechanical, electrical, industrial, or related engineering field plus a minimum of 4 years of experience or an equivalent combination of experience and education.Preferred QualificationsTypically, a minimum of 10 years of professional experience in large infrastructure programs in a commissioning role, including 5 years in a management or leadership position. Aviation experience is preferred.Thorough working knowledge and experience of commissioning industrial and commercial mechanical,



electrical, plumbing, and general engineering systems.Demonstrable experience commissioning major capital assets in a live operational and highly regulated environment; aviation preferred.Project management experience, including planning, scheduling, cost, and risk management.Specific knowledge of design, construction, project management, and maintenance of building mechanical, industrial, and utility systems.Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills, including facilitation of meetings and workshops with large groups of stakeholders.Strong technical capability across all project phases, with the ability to solve complex problems and use data analytics to support solution identification.Experience in managing senior stakeholder relationships and providing strategic level reporting to enable decision making.Recognized degree in mechanical, electrical, industrial, or related engineering field.CompensationExpected compensation for this role is between $117,200 and $161,200 annually.
