These positions are funded through the Canada Summer Jobs grant program, a federal initiative that provides meaningful summer employment opportunities for youth while supporting community organizations.To be eligible for these positions, applicants must be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of employment, be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person with refugee protection, and be legally entitled to work in Canada.This year, we are hiring across three streams: Administrative, Humane Education, and Animals & Operations. Applicants apply to the stream that best matches their interests and may be considered for multiple roles within that stream based on their skills, experience, and organizational needs.Most positions are 35 hours per week for 8 weeks, with a small number of positions at 30 hours per week for 9 weeks. Administrative roles at Calgary Humane Society support key functions across the organization, including communications, fundraising, volunteer engagement, data management, and behaviour administrative support.In these roles,



you’ll develop strong organizational and professional skills while contributing to a team-oriented team dedicated to improving the lives of animals and the people who care for them.Roles in this stream may include:Administrative Assistant: Provides day‑to‑day administrative support across departments.Animal Behaviour Assistant: Supports the Behaviour team in an administrative capacity to enhance programs that promote animal wellbeing and adoptability.Volunteer Resources Administrator: Assists with volunteer coordination, engagement, and program support.Communications Assistant: Helps create content and support public‑facing communications.Database Stewardship Assistant: Supports data entry, donor records, and information accuracy.Planned Giving & Events Assistant: Assists with donor relations, fundraising initiatives, and event coordination.Who You Are:You are someone who enjoys keeping things organized and supporting others so they can do their best work.
