Become a Peer Support Worker with Island Health, where you'll provide critical services to individuals facing mental health challenges. This role is a full time prospect for compassionate professionals dedicated to making a difference.

In this pivotal position, you will work alongside a multidisciplinary team to support clients with experiences of homelessness, psychiatric disabilities, and substance abuse. Peer Support Workers will leverage their lived experiences to connect with clients, ensuring a nurturing workplace. Transportation between sites may be required, emphasizing the importance of a valid driver's license.

Key Responsibilities:
• Work closely with various health professionals for client service
• Design and deliver individualized support plans
• Ensure adherence to best practices in safety and quality




• Utilize electronic file systems to document service delivery
• Foster positive relationships with clients throughout support

Requirements:
• Must have a Community Mental Health Certificate
• Past involvement with mental health services is essential
• BC Class 5 Driver's License required
• Proven experience working with vulnerable populations
• Strong communication abilities for client interaction
