In this pivotal role, you will leverage your expertise to manage the accounting cycle. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment and are passionate about driving change, this opportunity is designed for you.What You Will DoLead the full month‑end close of subsidiary companies:Monthly variance analysis of operations results.Monitoring of Regulatory deferral accounts.Preparation of monthly and annual journal entries.Reconciliation of sub‑ledgers.Assist with month‑end close of primary companies:Preparation of revenue analysis for all revenue streams.Preparation of monthly loan documentation and quarterly consolidated covenant reporting.Assesses internal controls, including risk assessments and reviews of risk areas.Preparation of variance analyses and troubleshooting on an ad‑hoc basis.Responsible for ensuring compliance with inter‑company and shared service agreements, managing cross‑charges and ensuring inter‑company amounts reconcile.Supervise and train junior staff:Supervision of full‑cycle AP and AR, assistance with customer and vendor enquiries.Review of monthly bank reconciliations, GST and PST filings.Review of monthly journal entries.Assist with annual projects:Preparation of audit working papers and memos.Assistance with drafting of annual consolidated financial statements.Assistance in the preparation of annual budgets.Payroll support:Analysis of payroll costs and cross charges among the group of companies.Submission of pension and RRSP filings and remittance.Ownership of pension working papers, compliance and communication.Provides back‑up for processing bi‑weekly payroll for Canadian and US companies.



Ensures all source deductions are correctly calculated and properly remitted.Reconcile & remit union dues and WSBC and WSIB payments.Regulatory support:Preparation of regulatory work papers, schedules, and communication.Follow up with regulatory and implement changes from regulatory rulings.Skills / Capabilities We NeedStrong communication skills with the ability to convey financial information to individuals with non‑accounting backgrounds.Self‑starter with the ability to work independently and as a member of a team, team spirit and willingness to go the extra mile.Excellent time management, organizational and planning skills and demonstrated flexibility coping effectively with changing priorities in a fast‑paced work environment and the ability to successfully manage and complete multiple tasks within deadlines.Excellent problem solving and analytical skills.Proficient with technology, with a focus on Excel and Sage.Experience / BackgroundBachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation.Minimum of 3 – 5+ years’ of accounting experience.Big 4 experience.Experience working in a regulatory environment.About UsRecognized as a leader in innovative energy solutions, Creative Energy is the developer, owner, and operator of sustainable district energy systems across North America. A reasonable estimate of the pay range is CAD$90,000 – CAD$115,000. Within the range, individual pay is determined by factors such as job‑related skills, relevant experience, education and/or training.
