Dispatcher Required For Trucking Industry
Rotation Schedule (8/6)
A Dispatcher’s regular schedule includes, but is not limited to:
- 8 consecutive days on shift (Wednesday to Wednesday)
- In-office hours: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM or 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
- 24-hour on-call coverage during scheduled on-shift days
- 6 consecutive days off (Thursday to Tuesday)
- Results in every second weekend off, supporting work-life balance

Key Skills Required Communication & Dispatching: Answering incoming calls, analyzing requests, and transmitting information via telephone, text and/or email to field units (drivers, third party contractors, service technicians, customers/clients).
Coordination & Routing: Scheduling and directing personnel to locations based on urgency, distance, and/or customer needs.
Monitoring & Tracking: Keeping track of field unit's locations, status,
and progress using GPS or mapping software (GeoTab Drive).
Documentation & Records: Maintaining detailed, accurate, and up-to-date logs of calls/texts/emails, etc., incidents, Hours of Service Records, Bill of Ladings, etc.
Basic Computer Skills: Basic computer skills involve fundamental tasks like using a mouse and keyboard, navigating an operating system (Windows), managing files, browsing the internet, and using essential software for email, word processing (like Microsoft Word), and spreadsheets (like Excel).
Problem Resolution: Addressing customer inquiries, service delays, and operational issues in real time.
Safety Monitoring: Checking weather reports, traffic conditions, Hours of Service, and ensuring compliance with safety protocols.
Verify and Organize Documents: such as bills of ladings, JSA’s, manifests, etc.
Coordinate with the Maintenance Team: Ensure Trucks/Equipment are available with Mechanical/ Shop Staff.
