Join Humber as an Occupational Health and Safety Specialist, where your skills will help safeguard students and staff in a hybrid work setting. You'll drive health initiatives and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
In this full time position, you'll be integral to the People(s) and Culture/OHS team, managing comprehensive safety programs. Key tasks include overseeing health and safety risk assessments, providing expert advice, and ensuring compliance with health legislation. Collaborate across departments to ensure a safe learning setting for all.
Key Responsibilities:
• Implement and administer OHS programs and procedures
• Conduct safety risk assessments and make recommendations
• Administer WSIB claims and provide return-to-work support
• Facilitate workplace inspections and safety education training
• Develop health awareness initiatives and communication materials
Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in occupational health or safety
• At least 5 years of relevant experience
• Familiarity with health and safety laws and regulations
• Expertise in workplace hazard assessment
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
