ENMAX is seeking a Telecommunications Engineering Specialist to enhance grid reliability by designing essential telecom infrastructure. This engineer role is focused on outage planning and system readiness. As a Planning Engineer for Utility Telecommunications, you will leverage your extensive knowledge of telecom systems and operational protocols.
Your responsibility will be to collaborate with various stakeholders to ensure the resilience of tele-protection systems. Combining your engineering expertise with practical experience will drive the success of ENMAX's communication strategies. Key Responsibilities:
Handle lifecycle and status of telecommunications equipment
Coordinate between vendors and internal teams
Update and authenticate telecom diagrams
Develop fibre outage contingency plans
Lead investigations for fibre outages impacting SCADA Requirements:
Minimum 5 years experience in relevant sectors
Technical knowledge of tele-protection and MPLS systems
Proficient in fibre asset management via GIS
Understanding of AUC standards and telecom reliability
