Electrical Apprentice – 1st to 4th Year

Electrek Contracting is a growing Calgary electrical contractor looking for a reliable Electrical Apprentice to join our team.

We are a small company with a busy and varied workload. Our work includes residential service, renovations, troubleshooting, panel and service upgrades, EV chargers, lighting, commercial projects, and other electrical installations throughout Calgary.

We're looking for someone who has experience in the trade and wants to become a well-rounded electrician. We're open to 1st through 4th year apprentices, with compensation based on apprenticeship level, experience, and ability.

What we're looking for

- Registered 1st, 2nd, 3rd or 4th year Electrical Apprentice
- Previous residential/service experience is a strong asset
- Good understanding of electrical installation practices appropriate to your apprenticeship level
- Able to work efficiently and take direction
- Comfortable working in customers' homes and occupied businesses
- Reliable, punctual and professional
- Valid driver's licence and reliable transportation
- Basic hand tools
- Good communication skills
- Someone who takes pride in doing clean, quality work

We're a small company, so reliability, attitude and the ability to work well with others are just as significant to us as experience.

You'll get exposure to a wide range of electrical work, including:
- Residential service and troubleshooting
- Renovations
- Lighting and device installation
- Panel changes and service upgrades
- EV charger installations
- Basement developments
- Commercial electrical work
- Rough-in and finishing
- Cable and conduit installation
- Working alongside experienced electricians on larger projects

This isn't a position where you'll spend months doing the same task on one construction site. We do a wide variety of work and are looking for someone who wants experience across different areas of the electrical trade.
