The Building Operations

Technician is responsible for overseeing the maintenance of all electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment within the data center.

The Building

Technician serves as a technical resource to support Amazon within its data centers. Data center equipment that supports mission-critical servers must maintain better than 99.999% uptime.

Technician's are also tasked with driving innovation while reducing operational costs in the facilities.

Technician's are Amazon's front line respondents for electrical and mechanical issued affecting Amazon's availability. This equipment includes, but is not limited to, stand-by diesel generators and related fuel systems, switchboards/switch-gears, UPS's, PDU's, AHU's, CRAHUs, CRAC's, pumps, motors, VFD's, and building automation systems. This position requires that the candidate selected obtain and maintain an active Reliability Status security clearance with the Government of Canada.

2+ years of relevant work experience

- Can use hands to manipulate small wires and objects
- Can walk on job sites in uneven terrain
- 4+ years of data center engineering experience
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
- Knowledge of network design and layout as well as low voltage (copper/ fiber) cabling
- Experience in data center engineering

As a total compensation company, Amazon's package may include other elements such as sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs).
