We are seeking an Estimator for our Calgary team.

Reporting to the Sales Manager, the Estimator will prepare accurate material takeoffs from blueprints and specifications for commercial line painting projects. In this role, you will manage tender platforms, source recent project opportunities, and build strong relationships with client estimating teams while staying highly responsive to market and pricing trends.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

· Review project drawings, specifications, addenda, schedules, and tender documents.

· Complete detailed quantity takeoffs for commercial line painting and coatings projects.

· Prepare accurate cost estimates using company tools, software,



and procedures.

· Evaluate scope requirements, site conditions, schedules, exclusions, alternates, and potential risk items.

· Request and analyze competitive supplier and subcontractor pricing.

· Identify and mitigate scope gaps, unclear requirements, and tender risks.

· Track critical bid deadlines, site visit dates, and overall tender status.

· Support the post-award handoff to the operations team by clearly communicating scope, pricing assumptions, and production expectations.

· Maintain organized estimating records and contribute to the continuous improvement of company bidding processes.

WHAT YOU BRING

· Experience: 3 to 5 years in a construction or trade estimating role.

· Technical Skills: Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, architectural drawings, specifications and tender documents.

· Software Savvy: Strong computer skills. Experience with Bluebeam is an asset.

· Time Management: Ability to manage multiple tenders, priorities and tight deadlines simultaneously.

· Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
