Become a Cook with Lookout Housing and Health Society in Courtenay, BC. This full time role focuses on preparing meals and maintaining high standards of kitchen cleanliness.

As a permanent member of Lookout’s team, you will report to the Site Manager. Your responsibilities include cooking meals, overseeing kitchen volunteers, and ensuring a protected environment. Successful candidates should demonstrate solid communication, the ability to work in diverse settings, and a commitment to health and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:
• Cook and serve meals, snacks, and beverages
• Maintain kitchen and dining area cleanliness
• Work with kitchen volunteers to enhance operations
• Follow specified menus and manage supplies




• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations

Requirements:
• Minimum Grade 12 and Cooking Diploma with 2 years’ experience
• Must have FOODSAFE Certificate and Occupational First Aid Level 1
• Experience with institutions and cost analysis is beneficial
• Ability to manage workload effectively
• Strong physical and mental ability for work tasks
