Experienced Landscape Construction Labourer

LandCo Group is a family-owned and operated construction company specializing in municipal landscape and park construction throughout the GTA.

We are currently looking for an experienced Landscape Construction Labourer to join our team.

This position is for an experienced landscape construction worker. It is not an entry-level position and is not landscape-maintenance work. Applicants must have hands-on construction experience with grading, equipment operation, hardscape, concrete or municipal site construction.

Applicants must have hands-on experience working on active landscape construction, civil construction or site-development projects.

Responsibilities You will work as part of a construction crew completing municipal park and landscape construction projects.

Typical work includes

- Operating skid steers and mini excavators
- Excavation and site preparation
- Grading and working to elevations
- Granular placement and compaction
- Using laser levels
- Concrete preparation and forming
- Interlock and unit-paver installation
- Armour stone and retaining-wall construction
- Drainage installation
- Site furniture installation
- Tree, shrub, topsoil and sod installation
- Finish grading
- Working safely around existing utilities
- Loading and unloading trucks and equipment
- General construction labour as required

Minimum Requirements

Applicants must have

- Minimum 3 years of hands-on landscape construction,



civil construction or site-work experience
- Experience operating a skid steer and/or mini excavator
- Experience with grading and elevations
- Ability to use a laser level or understand construction grades
- Valid Ontario G driver's licence
- Reliable transportation to and from work
- Ability to work independently after receiving instructions
- Ability to perform physically demanding construction work outdoors
- Ability to lift at least 50 lbs.
- Strong reliability and attendance

Construction Experience Applicants should have hands-on experience in at least several of the following areas:
- Excavation
- Fine grading
- Granular base preparation
- Concrete forming
- Concrete placement
- Interlock / unit paving
- Armour stone
- Retaining walls
- Drainage
- Site furniture
- Playground construction
- Municipal park construction

Landscape maintenance, grass cutting and garden-maintenance experience alone does not meet the experience requirements for this position. Who We Are Looking For

We are looking for someone who can arrive on a construction site, understand assigned work and contribute immediately.

The ideal candidate is comfortable operating equipment but is equally willing to work on the ground with the rest of the crew.

You should understand basic construction sequencing, grades, compaction and site conditions and be able to complete tasks without constant supervision.
