Astoria Lighting is looking for reliable, hardworking Independent Subcontractor Installers to join our installation team.

We specialize in permanent exterior lighting systems installed on residential and commercial properties throughout the Edmonton and surrounding area. We are looking for individuals who are comfortable working outdoors, on ladders, roofs, and at heights, and who take pride in doing clean, professional work.

This is not an hourly or salaried employee position. This is an independent subcontractor opportunity, with installers paid based on completed installation footage.

Compensation

- Starting at $3.00 per installed foot
- Piece-rate compensation means your earning potential is directly tied to your productivity and efficiency
- Opportunity for increased earning potential based on experience, quality of work, reliability, and performance
- Consistent work available for dependable installers
- Experienced installers typically complete approximately 150-200 feet per day, which equates to approximately $450-$600 per day at the starting rate.
- Actual earnings vary based on productivity, job availability, job complexity, and other factors. This is an independent subcontractor position, not an hourly wage position.

What You'll Be Doing

- Installing permanent exterior lighting systems on residential and commercial buildings
- Working from ladders and on roofs
- Measuring, planning, and completing installations according to job specifications
- Installing track, lighting, wiring, controllers, and related components
- Safely using ladders, power tools, and installation equipment
- Ensuring installations are straight, clean, secure, and professionally finished
- Maintaining a clean and safe job site
- Communicating with the Astoria team regarding job progress, questions, or concerns
- Representing Astoria professionally while working at customer properties

What We're Looking For We are looking for people who are:





- Comfortable and confident working on roofs, ladders, and at heights
- Mechanically inclined and comfortable using hand and power tools
- Able to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Physically capable of lifting and carrying ladders, tools, equipment, and materials
- Detail-oriented and able to produce clean, qualified-looking work
- Reliable and able to show up when scheduled
- Able to work efficiently without sacrificing quality
- Able to follow installation specifications and safety requirements
- Professional and respectful when working at customers' homes and businesses

Previous experience in exterior lighting, roofing, siding, soffit/fascia, gutters, electrical, construction, telecommunications, solar, or another exterior trade would be an asset.

Subcontractor Requirements

Because this is an independent subcontractor position, successful applicants must:

- Have their own reliable vehicle capable of transporting ladders, tools, equipment, and materials
- Supply and maintain the tools and equipment required to complete installation work
- Carry their own active WCB coverage
- Carry their own commercial/general liability insurance
- Be responsible for their own taxes, deductions, insurance, and other obligations associated with operating as an independent contractor
- Be legally entitled to work in Canada

Pay: $70,000.00-$140,000.00 per year
